I’ve worked in consultancy for Logica (now CGI), NEC and Capgemini, before working in the education sector for Kaplan. I have also worked as a contractor with other large multi-national IT companies.
In consultancy, you’re often work within accounts – this includes Burberry, The Co-operative Group, The O2/ AEG, The Houses of Parliament, TUi and AirTours, to name a few.
Amongst my key skills, I include Programme and Project Management, senior stakeholder engagement, cross-business change management, global collaboration and IT delivery improvement.
Over my career I moved quickly into unit management, line management, programme management and most recently overall IT directorship for a multinational education company.
I’ve always tried to be the kind of consultant that makes the promise and delivers the promise – meaning I’ve worked through bids, solution architecture, delivery and into operational service delivery.
Multi-national/ multi-business unit change:Defining change process and programme for the business to identify and prioritise delivery across different business areas (including sales, marketing, product development, finance and operations). This included senior stakeholder engagement.
Establishing new Digital Business Unit: Setting up a new business unit focused at delivering digital solutions, within leading consultancy – my role in this was as Operations Director. This unit grew from about 70 consultants to over 110 within 6-months. Included defining new career paths and developement, monthly P&L reporting, recruitment and team assignment to projects.
Headline Salesforce delivery: I had the opportunity to work on two key-note Salesforce projects, one delivering the first customised Chatter implementation and the second delivering an integrated Salesforce/ SAP solution for Supply Chain. These featured for two years at Salesforce’s global events.
Technology partner at The O2: Led the delivery of 5 concurrent streams of work within 9-months at The O2 as the Technology Founding Partner. This included network and telephony, access control, hardware provision, the delivery of Europe’s largest digital cinema solution and creation of a cross-company demonstration environment.
